I want to be a grounded dragon,
to walk the earth with no name.
To go inside my cave,
where I have stored my most precious,
and where I keep darkness safe
with the sanctity of my flame.
To guard the darkness and its beauty,
is more desire than it is duty,
and I will let centuries rest,
I will let years go by,
until I finally set out to fly
These years of unrest,
these centuries of pillage and plunder
won’t touch
what’s closest to my heart
I’ll have you hidden behind the veil,
you’ll be a tale
without a name
To pretend
You’re a figment of my imagination
Is just another way for this desperate dragon
To keep you safe
