I had a wish,
but it was shattered by the force of a vision.
I had a plan,
but I gambled, took a chance,
made some quick decisions.
I have never been so confident
while knowing that I don’t know.
I have never been so hesitant,
unwilling to keep quiet
and do as I’m told.
The wisdom of ages might not live in me yet,
but without regret,
I’ll start dancing my own dance,
convinced I know the steps.
