In praise of the Goddess

With knowledge

Now that I am familiar with North, I’ll search for a group of wolves on the horizon – they will show me where to go. They have been howling at the Moon for eternity, the Moon will whisper back. The Moon is a trusted friend.

The South will pour me a river infested by crocodiles, and I’ll swim alongside them – together we’ll search for prey, and we’ll take only what we need to take.

East is a magnificent entrance – a crystal cave opens, light shimmers and breaks on smooth surfaces of color similar to gold. A Jaugar will lead me through passages of this kind of extreme light – gold that is becoming white, then translucent.

The West will keep safe another sacred space – the brown bear’s cave. We will share it when winter comes, when we need to be far away from others, but not alone. The bears claws can rest, they don’t have to warn visitors to stay away – the darkness of the cave entrance leaves no room for doubt who is wanted, and who is not.

With that knowledge, I close my eyes and plunge into the dark.
