Treasure hunt

I feel pressure
Heat and hunger of a man
Looking for his long lost treasure

I feel locked beneath
Years and years of twisting and turning,
of the Earth moving, and tearing apart
A pirate’s burning heart

I feel I am to blame
For his love of distant sunsets
For his restless quest
Relentless unrest

I feel I owe
I feel I am in debt
For all those moments he spent
Sailing the seas,
Under star sprinkled skies
Prepared to find his treasure,
Caught by surprise

Prepared to be certain
The show is over,
We can drop down the curtains
Then stay behind, far away from prying eyes

A pirate and his treasure
My life and I
