What I thought would be another torment, turned out to be a gateway that would set me free.
It stood before me, looking like a soothing balm, a well known remedy. The silence that was there, at the end of the road.
It felt like another chapter of my trials would be written, and the air, so devious, teasing me with shortage of oxygen, would be the next chapter’s villain.
But instead, giving me the experience of the shortness of breath,
of the shortness of living,
it captured me in an instant.
And there, captured,
I went beyond what I knew as limits.
